Week two at Techstars Boulder has almost come to an end. Teams are starting to build some momentum after having rapid feedback from over 20 mentor meetings in the short amount of time they have been here. Last night we had the second official round of pitch practices. The companies have been asked at various times to give their elevator pitches on the spot to different groups of people but wednesday nights is where they formally practice their refined investor pitches. It is interesting to see the changes that have happened in only a week; to pitches, ideas, target markets, product iterations and more. Overall the companies are making great progress and working to make sure they are pointed in the right direction before the start “sprinting” through the second third of the program. After pitch practices one of the companies hosted our weekly 9:09 feedback and discussion event, this time with a Hawaiian luau! Companies that accomplished their big rock(goal) for the week got a shot of good rum (or Hawaiian Punch), those that did not got plastic/shitty rum (or 0% fruit juice). This is one of the many fun ways Techstars combines business and a little bit of fun. Oh yeah, and some interior decorating of David Browns office.
