Well if it wasn’t apparent by my lack of posts since returning from FounderCon in Austin, we are busy here at Techstars Boulder. It is now week 11 of our 13-week program and Demo Day is creeping up faster and faster. The companies are all hard at work and continue to test, learn, iterate and build! I’ve done a few more Lean Canvas sessions with teams that have been helpful to track where they are at. It seems like everyone is very time sensitive and are working long hours (13 hours days have become more and more the norm)
I’m realizing that time is by far the most valuable asset we all have. You can always raise more money, get more employees, programmers, inventory, resources etc. But it seems there is never enough time in the day.
It is important to make time for the things and people that are important and not use the excuse “I don’t have time to…”
No matter how good your memory is, I think everyone should get in the habit of writing things down. I once heard a quote “You are 80% more likely to do something if you write it down”… This really resonated with me and after writing things down for a year now, I truly believe in this.
Some productivity tools that have helped me along this execution journey;
Wunderlist for To-Do lists and tasks
Trello for managing collaborative tasks and workflow for an organization/projects
Streak for CRM over Gmail; set up pipelines to track customers and more
I still learn more and more everyday I am here at Techstars with all these incredible founders and high velocity executers! I look at every project as an opportunity to help a company but also expand my knowledge. I have been helping more and more with writing content for companies. Some have been ghost written and I have been a guest contributor on Kapta’s Blog. I plan to continue developing my voice and writing skills.
